This is so serious. I wish that more people would understand that they will eventually reap what they sow.
I think it’s so hard for us to visualize that we all are farmers of our bodies. Meaning that we plant seeds that grow to either be detrimental or beneficial to our health and wellness.
My only thing is how can we as a people begin to bring a new epidemic of hope to those that are struggling with eating right and living right at low costs? Because the economy does not help to make it easier for working Americans…

Thanks for posting this Geo. Sometimes I need to see things like this to shock me back into action. What a terrible tragedy. I really need to take better care of myself. This is also important for people like me who don’t see a doctor regularly. Thank you geo for bringing this to our attention. Let’s hope this doesn’t have to happen again for all of us to make that change in our lives.

Yes, I read that too..very sad…and it is something that is preventable. I do what I can as far as trying to help my friends and family..sharing exercise and “diet” tips..what to eat, what not to eat. Thank you for all that you do.

Geo–
People don’t get that sick overnight, nor will they get healthy overnight either, regardless of all the hype theey might here in the media.
It is our duty to ourselves and our loved ones to take good care of the body GOD has given to us.
We must be proactive in getting fit, not depend on doctors to fix us after we are sick!
Thanks for posting this audio!

Geo,
I just read it for myself a few minutes ago on Yahoo. Shocking!! I live with a ticking time bomb, my husband. He used to be such an athlete, but we are both in the neighborhood of 50 and due to sports injuries, etc. he now sits on the couch in the evenings and washes his meals down with soda. He is overweight, obese by all the typical standards, and has high blood pressure and gout, so walking too much or standing for too long swells his knee to twice its size.

My husband and I are active but the rest of our extended family are not and as a result our closest and dearest sisters and brothers are obese. It’s hard to express a concern when we worry about hurting someone’s feelings. We both find it very difficult to speak to our loved ones regarding their health, as they take offense to comments directed towards their weight. We love them so much, but have a hard time expressing our concern… maybe this will help. Thanks

This is so sad. It is a long battle that once people have gone so far they find it impossible to turn back but it is never too late. Ireland is taking this subject by storm. We now have a program called Operation Transformation. Our local radio station has set this up. there are a few contestants which vary people at various ages. It is on every week so everyone can see how they are progressing. It not only helps the contestants but they have set up a website which allows everyone and anyone to follow either be it their diet or exercise plan. so anyone can benefit. it shows their struggle and at the end the increase in their life expectancy. Check it out: www.rte.ie/ot

Tick Tick Tick The time bomb is ticking - my husband and I need to move toward being more healthy.. My husband is adopted and does not know his medical history but he is making history as he stands all day and becomes a couch potato upon arriving home. As someone said earlier this didn’t happen over night and it will take time to recover from what we have done to ourselves.

We all need to be pro-active about spreading the word. My personal training takes place part time from my full time job; but more and more people know how passionate I am about eating and being healthy and have helped others who previously had no interest. Offer to help people you meet. Be enthusiastic — be motivated.
