The Best Ways to Burn Belly Fat

Monday, July 30th, 2007

This week I wanted to talk about something that we ALL hate.  But instead of hearing it from me, I wanted you to learn about it from a fitness guru who obviously comes with a long record of kicking belly fat to the curb.  So enjoy the great read.

Best Ways to Burn Belly Fat

I often get asked, “What’s the best way to burn fat and lose my belly?” People want to know if aerobics is better than strength training, or if traditional cardio exercise is better than intervals.

Well, to say I’ve done them all would be an understatement.

With over 15 years experience helping others, training myself, training for sports, spending countless hours in the gym, AND actually conducting laboratory research studies on different exercise methods, I’m pretty confident in knowing what works and what does not.

But first of all, I want to frame my responses. I’m going to talk about what works for people that have a limited amount of time to exercise, mostly because I expect your readers don’t have 90 minutes per day to devote to a workout, unlike the typical audience of a fitness magazine.

That’s why there is a huge disconnect between some of the information found in magazines and the ability of the reader to apply it to their lives.

We just don’t have 6-8 hours per week for exercise, nor do we need it. If you’re a triathlete, you might need that, but not someone that just wants to lose fat and gain muscle.

Having said all that, the bottom line for getting a better body is…

Use bodyweight exercises to warm-up, strength training supersets to build muscle, and then finish your workout with interval training to burn fat in a short amount of time. I’ve structured my system so that you are in and out of the gym in 45 minutes, three times per week.

You’ll do 5 minutes of bodyweight exercises to warm-up. This is a much more efficient approach than spending 5 minutes walking on a treadmill, which really doesn’t prepare you for anything except more walking on a treadmill.

Then we move into the strength training supersets, where we use two exercises performed back to back with minimum rest between each. This cuts our workout time, while still giving us maximum results. We only need 20 minutes for this, and we’ll use basic exercises, and sometimes even more bodyweight exercises, depending on the client’s goal for muscle building.

And finally, we’ll do 18 minutes of interval training. A warm-up, followed by six short intervals at the appropriate fitness level for the client, interspersed with short periods of low-intensity recovery. Finish with a cool-down. And that’s the workout. Again, about 45 minutes total.

Compare that to what most people do, which is run, jog, cycle or use the cardio machines for 45 minutes straight. Sure, that will burn calories, but it doesn’t build a better body.

In fact, there are a few “dark sides” to long slow cardio, including less-than-optimal results, the potential for overuse injuries, and it is an inefficient form of exercise. If you only have 30-45 minutes for your workout and you spend it all on a cardio machine, when are you going to train the rest of your muscles and sculpt a better body?

So the best way to burn belly fat is with a combination of strength training and interval training. It’s fast, it works, and it’s fun!

Mind Over Matter

Mind Over Matter

What does that mean to you?

To me it means being able to do anything that I put my mind to no matter how hard it can be.  I personally like to think that there’s nothing I can’t do and I honestly can’t seem to figure out why people let fear stop them dead in the tracks from doing what it is they want.

Now I know someone who knows me well will say, hey Geo you let fear stop you from going on rollercoasters.  My answer to that is I never wanted to ride rollercoasters to begin with.

But you, the person who wants to look good and feel great, you want those things but yet you let feelings of discomfort and fear keep you from accomplishing your dreams.  Dreams that you rightfully deserve to turn into realities.

Honestly that’s why I wrote Mind Over Matter folks.  Sure it’s great to be a published writer, sure it’s great to make a few bucks here and there but honestly if I could bury one message home it would be to dream and get the hell out the way.  Don’t let fear step in between you and your goals.

Mind Over Matter is the guide you need to push you over the fears and mental barriers that’s stopped you in the past from losing weight.  This time around add a sidekick to your battle to lose weight and believe me your life will change beyond belief.

You can get access to my e-book by going to

http://www.fitness-sucess.com

There are less than 24 hours left before this e-book is taken off the market.  When will it be back? Honestly the answer might be never, so take action now and change your life for the good.

Wednesday, July 25th, 2007

Below I’ve enclosed 20 Fat Loss Tips that you can use today to help you lose weight and get the body you want.

Before that though allow me to mention that in about 48 hours my e-book Mind Over Matter will be gone from the internet and honestly I don’t know how long this will be the case. It might just be forever but I wouldn’t wait till the final seconds to get it because  you might just miss out.  You can read all about it at:

http://www.fitness-success.com

Alright, onto the 20 fat loss tips

1. Do not drink your calories. (Meaning no sodas or juice)

2.  Perform compound exercises (Exercises such as bench press, pushups, pull ups, squats)

3. Lower your carb intake

4. Increase Your Protein Intake

5. Eat 5-6 small meals

6. Perform high intensity cardio (sprints, bodyweight circuit)

7. Drink Water

8.  Consume fish oils or efa’s (good for your heart and also helps with fat burning)

9.  Have two protein shakes a day. (helps with muscle recovery and requires the body more work to break down.)

10. Eat protein with every meal.

11. Eat 25-35 grams of Fiber (Known for supressing appetite.)

12. Eat less calories than you take in. (no-brainer)

13. Take a multi-vitamin

14. Visualize what you’re going to look like 4-12 weeks from now.

15. Assume and Accept that you are not only going to change but that  you’ve already changed.

The last two really deals with topics in my e-book.  If you focus on the things you want and also act as if you’ve already got the six pack abs, your actions will begin to change.  You will start to eat like a person who has six pack abs.  Believe me it does work.

Portion Control- Key To Effective Dieting

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

Every week I think about what I can tell you that you have not heard regarding health and fitness. It seems like everyone has their opinion on what should be done to lose weight, most importantly lose fat.

I would like to think that the information that I supply can be implemented instantly so you can start to not only lose weight but most importantly lose fat; meaning no more loose skin, firmer abs, a toned look just in time for the summer.

After much deliberation and reading hundreds of pages from fitness books and magazines, there was an idea that is absolutely important for you to understand.

We all know what foods are good and we all know the foods we should not be consuming so I will not take the time to do that here, but will welcome any email if you would like special help with making the right food choices.

The idea here is PORTION CONTROL!

Many people on a diet deprive themselves of food. You see someone with a bottle of water and ask what they ate for the day and the answer is nothing. Eating nothing is not going to help you in the long run.

In fact when you lose weight from STARVATION, a big chunk of the weight is muscle. Losing muscle is not the best thing if you’re trying to look lean and sexy in a short period of time. Muscle is the only active tissue in the body that actually burns fat! Meaning the less muscle you have, the less fat you are burning.

So back to portion control. Eating small meals throughout the day helps ensure that your muscles are getting the proper nutrients around the clock and also helps to keep your metabolism up.

When you see a friend who can eat anything and never gain an inch, it’s because your friend most likely has a fast metabolism. By eating small portions throughout the day, you too can have a faster metabolism.

So if you are only eating once a day, it’s time you start spreading out the food and try eating 3 times a day. Ideally you want to consume 5 small meals a day but if you are only eating 1 now, maybe 3 is ideal for you. Continue to work on this until you get to 5 small meals a day and trust me your body will thank you.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and remember Fast Metabolism = Faster Weight Loss.

P.S.- By the way my first e-book Mind Over Matter is going to be taken off the shelves this week.  If you’ve been looking around online and found a bunch of crappy e-books or websites, believe me this isn’t one of them.

I will be posting the link to it in a couple of hours so stay tuned.

And the winner is…

Saturday, July 21st, 2007

Yesterday I asked what the number 1 killer in the United States and I thank many of you for taking the time out to post your answers.  The answers were pretty dead on but one person came up with the correct answer first and that’s Kirsty.

Kirsty congratulations, your e-book and bonuses will be sent to you the minute I’m doing with this post.

So the correct answer was heart disease.

Now heart disease for the most part is something that we can control, which is why it’s disappointing to know that it’s the number 1 reason for deaths in this country.

Start right now to educate yourself on things such as diet, nutrition, exercise and also stress.  If you neglect these things you will only be doing yourself a disservice.   In my commitment to provide you with incredible content that you can apply to your lives I’d like for you to at the very least apply one principle if possible that will help you achieve good health.

I would like for you all to list one thing you will commit to change in your lifestyle to help you live healthier.  For me I’m going to commit to drinking only water and not having juices, or sodas.  What about you?

U.S. Number 1 Killer

Friday, July 20th, 2007

I woke up this morning and did my normal routine of visiting news websites, checking if there were any news on my favorite football team the Baltimore Ravens and came across an article on yahoo that really caught my eye.

In fact it’s literally sad if this does happen.  The world is about to enter a whole new war and it’s not going to look pretty.

A recent study shows that by 2015 75% of Americans will be overweight if the rate of people gaining weight continues to get at the rate it currently is at now.  That’s not a misprint!  3 out of every 4 Americans will be overweight with a whooping 41% being obese.

Last night while talking with friends I talked about what can be done about this and in my next blog you will get a chance to read what we came up with.

In fact let me give you a preview of what went down.  We talked about investments, we talked about our life and how we can become better people in health and wealth.  But of course being a fitness professional the topic of obesity came up.

I revealed to my friends the number 1 killer in America but also how WE can do something about it.

I want for you to guess what is the number 1 killer in the United States.

Go ahead guess… [Hint: It’s not what you think]

To up the ante, who ever gets the answer right first will receive my e-book Mind Over Matter for Free!  The new and improved Mind Over Matter E-book($39.99 Value) is coming out soon and will be way better but that’s not to say the original isn’t good too.

Remembering The Ones We Love

Friday, July 20th, 2007

Warning: This blog post is not about fitness and there’s a reason for it.

Many blogs from fitness professionals really are all about fitness and nothing more. I love reading them but at times I want to feel a closer connection to the author of the blog but unfortunately they don’t offer you a glimpse into their personality.

This is where this blog will be a little bit different. I am not one to hide behind a computer screen. I want for you to know a little bit about me and for you to feel like I’m not just your source for fitness information but like you have I feelings and I laugh, I hurt just like each and everyone of you.

Below I have a video that I’ve been listening to over and over again and I wanted to hear what you guys thought about it. If you’ve lost a love one this video will definitely hit home for sure without a doubt.

The reason for me listening to this video over and over again is because I miss a very special person in my life right now as she is on vacation. I am thinking of her a lot.

I encourage you to post what you think about the video and most importantly remember this:

Emotional Eating

Thursday, July 19th, 2007

{Be Sure to Answer The Question all the way at the end… Look for the Bold P.S.}
One of the biggest issues that many people who are looking to lose weight suffer from is emotional eating. This has been a big problem that I’d have to admit I struggle with as well.

Sometimes we eat because we are sad, upset, mad, confused, stressed, or the infamous feeling of them all boredom.

It’s time to honestly push yourself away from the eating table and to take a “new” approach to eating. This new approach is eating for purpose. I actually got this while reading a blog from Athletes Performance. If you don’t know what Athletes Performance is, it’s in my opinion the number 1 place professional and amateur athletes go to prepare for competitions and their seasons.

Now these athletes perform at high levels and look great. Now I know many of you don’t want to have veins popping out your arms and these athletes don’t have that.

What they do have is lean bodies that we envy.

You’ve heard that the quickest way from point A to point B is a straight line right? Well in this instance let’s draw a straight line and do like the athletes at Athletes Performance. Let’s it for performance and not because of feeling.

Eat breakfast because you want to jump start your day and provide your body with energy to function properly.

Eat a small snack to keep that fire of energy burning in you, keeping your metabolism going at a high rate to help you shed fat 24/7.

Eat protein based lunch because it helps repair broken muscle tissue, requires the body to work harder to break down.

You get the picture don’t you? Eat because you want to create a better you and not because you want to satisfy your emotional state.

P.S. - Let’s try this out…

If you could pick one person you’d like to look like who would that person be. Post your answer by clicking the comment button below. I personally would like to look like Ray Lewis or Terrell Owens… Now I got a cute face but my body can always use some work.

Want to check out my cute face? You can by reading all about me at http://4evertoned.com/aboutgeo.htm
